THE TASK
My challenge for this week is to create a storyboard of minimum 3 images/panels.
MY IDEAS/INSPIRATION
My idea for this one was to keep the sketches simple but enough to display the story of what was taking place. I thought a nice simple story of a person trying to call for help whilst stranded on a deserted island but turns out a small island in the dry heat wasn’t the best place to start a SOS fire! I had no real inspiration apart from I’m thinking of creating a sea based game for my next project so I am just experimenting with shapes and styles.
TECHNIQUES
For this project there wasn’t too much to it other than spending some time just trying to get the sketches to portray the outcome of the scenes I planned. Being able to use camera position references you can see what type of shot is meant to be portrayed in each scene whether it being a close up shot or a wide shot.
SUMMARY
Overall it looks rough but saying that story boards aren’t exactly the prettiest, as long as the main story is being captured and enough detail is there for someone to be able to work from it and also be able to capture the same outcome as you then I would say it’s successful. I would love to spend more time on it but as I’m only getting used to using a drawing pad on a pc I feel like my technique needs to improve a lot more to be at the same ability I am on pencil and paper.
