THE TASK
This week it was my task to:
- Create a environment Photo Manipulation using different royalty free images
MY IDEAS/INSPIRATION
Once again in this weeks task I kept with a Sci-Fi theme and created some outer-world environment. Firstly I liked the idea of being able to be on a planet but be able to see everything in outer space, as if there were no atmosphere! I used 5 different images to create this environment and was fairly happy with the outcome. Maybe spending more time finding images more suitable would work better as some images definitely need more work than others.
TECHNIQUES
For this particular task I used Photoshop an certain tools within it were able to help me cutting images out. The lasso tool was really helpful being able to draw around the desired object as well as a object selection tool which can automatically find the object and cut it out for me to some extent. I was able to apply a shadow to the silhouette giving it sort of a ghostly feel as well as maybe just something not natural. The blur tool worked nicely being able to take away some of the sharp edges to help the image feel a bit softer.
SUMMARY
Overall I was pleased with the outcome but feel I could’ve really benefitted more from finding some better sourced or better quality images. Keeping in with the Sci-Fi theme I can see maybe some potential for it inspiring a future game but will have to see!
