THE TASK
This week’s challenge is to complete a sheet of minimum 3 facial expressions.
MY IDEAS/INSPIRATIONS
I loved this weeks task as it gave me the chance to recreate some of my favourite characters from the best TV show in the world called ‘It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia!’. This is a show me and my partner love to watch and I knew instantly I would be able to find some amazing facial expressions to show of different moods and feelings.
TECHNIQUES
For this task I was able to use my drawing tablet to create the shape of the faces I wanted and then to put focus and emphasis on certain features such as wrinkles, dimples and how it would effect the shape and shadows on the face. I really enjoy this type of sketch work as the shading is so simple but gives such a nice effect if not overdone. Using a nice pencil/brush on Photoshop I was able to find a way to draw really nice lines and hopefully make it easier to develop future work!
SUMMARY
Really happy with this weeks task in the enjoyment and the quality of work that came out of it. I think my hand control still needs a bit of work as I can notice some areas of the shading are a little bit rough. It would be really nice to study hair more and the natural flow of different hairstyles!
